Activities on or near the Farm

If you would rather not laze your days away in the shade of tree or on your veranda - Afsaal Guest Farm offers a range of activities for those who are feeling more energetic. For example...

Walks and Hikes

Take a guide or guide yourself - there are several walks around the farm which thread through diverse flora and fauna - along the river, up the fynbos hill, or through the fruit orchards.

Bird Watching

Many resident species can be spotted year-round due to our diverse habitat (rivers, dam, fynbos, open areas) and various fruit trees and bird-friendly plants. The more rare raptors and owls are also regularly sited. Bird-watching can be done from the comfort of your veranda, or a route down to the river has been mapped for more serious bird-watchers.

Farm Animals

Our farm animals love to be visited by guests (children and adults alike). Rosie, our friendly pink pig, is always ready for visitors (see the gallery for photos of the new piglets), cows, sheep or chickens can be arranged.

Sedately through town or more adventurously up the hill...
tractor rides are for all ages.
